Today marks a special occasion on the blog: my first new release since we started this journey together! So, let me tell you a bit about how Hot Start came to life. After my track Separate Ways, I felt a strong pull to create something a little more traditional yet decidedly modern Eurodance. I wanted a song that would fit perfectly into the series that began with Tonight and When the Stars Fade – complete with a female vocal, a touch of romance, and a pulsating beat.

Structure and Instrumentation

The chorus lyrics probably came first, aiming for a slightly sexy, alluring vibe with an easy melody. I drew inspiration from Katy Perry’s Hot N Cold, but from the outset, I built the arrangement to include more organic, “live” drums, trying to infuse a bit of a 70s disco feel. Guitars are also present, and for the main lead sound, I brought back the accordion that worked so well in Tonight.

Vocal Choices

Initially, the vocal was sung by the vocal synth Sheena, Version 1 from Synthesizer V Studio. Since then, Version 2 of the software has been released, making vocals even more lifelike. I experimented with a new synth vocalist named Felicia (who wasn’t in the software before), but ultimately, I returned to Sheena. Her raw, youthful voice really grew on me, proving to be the perfect fit for the track’s energy. Later, I also added a male voice for background harmonies and at the beginning of the song with a vocoder effect. This blend of Synthesizer V Studio vocal production allows me to maintain my one-man project ethos while achieving professional-sounding results in my home studio setup.

Release Day Excitement

In previous posts, when I talked about my songs, I always included a section about my experiences after the release. Since Hot Start is hitting the airwaves today, I can’t yet share any insights into its performance. What I can say is that I’m incredibly hopeful it will find more success than my last track, and more importantly, that you, dear reader, will love it.

Thank you for being part of the Eurodawn artist’s journey! I poured a lot of passion into this new release, and I hope it brings some positive energy to your day.
