Welcome back to the Eurodawn blog! Today, I’d like to talk about something a bit more personal, so you can get to know the person behind the music a little better. For me, modern Eurodance is a hobby, and fortunately, I don’t need to make a living from it. This provides immense creative freedom. On the other hand, I have very little free time for it, as I work during the day as a Senior Physician in a rehabilitation clinic in Germany. This dual life requires a unique kind of creative balance.
Profession and Hobby
This profession demands huge responsibility and dedication. During the day, I treat patients, supervise the work of resident doctors, manage organizational processes, and make important decisions. It’s a demanding profession that I love – deeply rewarding but also mentally taxing. The hours are long, and the focus must be absolute. So, how does someone in such a serious field find the time and energy to become a music producer and composer?
The truth is, music as an outlet has always been a lifelong passion for me. Since I was a small child, creating sounds and melodies has been a fundamental part of who I am. While my early years saw me analyzing 90s pop hits and later dedicating myself to metal music (even enduring an unproductive phase trying to perfect digital music creation for metal), the desire to compose never left. I had a few completely unproductive years when I completely gave up on music, but I always missed it terribly. It wasn’t until recent years that I rediscovered the incredible power and positive energy of Eurodance, a genre I now deeply appreciate for its ability to simply make you feel good. This newfound appreciation for electronic music opened up an entirely new avenue for my music creation process.
Finding Time
Navigating this dual career path requires careful planning and a deep commitment to both worlds. Not to mention the third factor: my family, with whom I also want to spend as much time as possible. During the day, I perform my duties with complete focus. My music production at home happens in the quiet corners of my living room, often late at night after my kids are asleep. Eurodawn is truly a one-man project, a passion project over 40, born from the sheer joy of creating. It’s about finding the time to explore uplifting electronic music and crafting positive dance music that connects with listeners. It’s not about chasing fame, it’s about the pure satisfaction of bringing an idea to life through sound.
For me, this creative balance isn’t just a hobby; it’s essential. It allows me to express a different side of myself, providing a vital counterpoint to the rigorous demands of my medical profession. It’s about showing that you can pursue personal passions and embark on a new creative path, even when starting music later in life or facing overcoming time constraints. My hope is that my journey can be an inspiration for musicians and anyone else looking to embrace adult creative pursuits.
Ultimately, whether I’m working at the clinic or composing a new track in my home studio setup, my aim is to bring dedication and positive energy to everything I do.
